K. DEVADASAN NAIR, IRS

An MSc (Chemistry) 1979-81-Merit scholar from University of Jabalpur, MP. Post retirement in 2020, he is a PhD research scholar in International Relations, at the School of International Relations & Politics (SIRP), MG University, Kottayam. He is a researcher in the area of India- Myanmar relations & his topic includes “Economic and Strategic Dimensions of India- Myanmar Relations: A Study Since 2010”, under the supervision of Dr. C. Vinodan, Director, SIRP. He has been meanwhile participating as an expert, in expert panel discussions on matters relating to Rohingyas of Myanmar.
During his career of four decades, he has served the C. Ex. and Customs, Cabinet Secretariat and the Ministry of External Affairs of the Govt. of India, during which he underwent specialized professional training in respect of each of the multifaceted fields of career functions & responsibilities, from various Central Govt. Institutions. As an Indian mission official in Myanmar and later New York, US, apart from meeting myriad dignitaries and diaspora, he had the unique experience of being appointed as one of the International Observers in the 2015 Myanmar elections which had then brought in democracy & created history.
